Page 13 is sublime. The words and art complement each other as two parts of a whole - Bear's far-off, contemplative gaze contrasting with Sarah's casual pose and expression. It's almost like you commissioned this piece for that moment. I love it.

And the next page pays it off perfectly.

@lizpower: the "@" symbol means "at." You use it in a discussion thread to show who you're talking to. If I wanted to say something to horse7, who commented before you, I'd go @horse7 because I'm speaking at horse7 rather than you.

Incredible use of metaphor...what defines/guides/inspires art and life. How do you come to that metaphor anyway... feeling the sun but showing the moon...it reminds me of the Avett brothers "the sky trades the moon for the sun" in the song "left on laura, left of lisa." Fun- thanks for your creativity :)

@mrsrichison: I tend to overuse metaphors in my daily routine, so they're fairly easy for me to conjure. I had just wanted to contrast the extreme "heat" of love that she suggests Jack feels for her and the sun/moon contrast popped into my head. It worked and survived the edit ;)

A bit disturbing. Although it makes perfect sense it just in no way humanly possible could be a real situation...
I hate the fact that "cool" people just assume they are desired, and that they are just to "cool" to hook up with anybody! That is kind like throwing off everything in a "non-popular" persons life!

That was really good. It shows how egotistical some people can be. They only think about themselves and what's best for them. I also loved the little twist at the end. Hey, they can't all be happy endings, can they? Again, great job. I'll definitely read more of your stories.

I was beginning to have fellings for Jack.:) I bet he didn't like her. He was just aware of her vanity. And a pretty smart guy he was. That. Was. So. Sad. I really did have feelings for him. What an evil bear! And an evil girl, too. She's so full of herself. But it was really good.
