A group in Mrs. Griffith's class in New York wrote this book collaboratively with a group in Mrs. Plever's class in Pennsylvania. We met via Skype to choose the collection of pictures. Then we passed the book back and forth to add on to it. We met via Skype again at the end to write the ending and give it a title. What a great experience!
This was a great way to collaborate! Skype was a useful way to start and end the Storybird. They enjoyed meeting and talking with the co-authors. My students flourished when they took their "turns" when writing. A mix of both was really beneficial for them to work with their own small group here and the entire group in both states. This approach will be a repeat!
