This story is amazing! The illustrations flow nicely with your plot, and the short little story is made special with your beautiful plot. Keep up the great work! I haven't really read the finalist's story yet, but if i had it my way, you really should've gone further in the competition! I love the ending especially-it adds something really special to this already cute story.

I LOVE this. It's so sweet and explains everything that I would hope i do for my father. I have never thought that so short of a story could be so amazing and breathtaking. Personally I'm A fan of really big book just like your daughter is and I definately write long ones because I can never think of the right ending, but you ended yours perfectly.

@sbpksharmaine Well... the title actually came out of the text of the book. "tying ribbons in her hair..." and "like a balloon on a string" are two parts in the story, and that'w where I pulled the title "Ribbons and Strings" from.

did you know that there was somebody who completely copied this story? all exact words, except he or she didn't do that good of grammar. yours is wonderful though! and good grammar. who knows what happened to the story bird that copied this one. it went away...

@efoudy19 Thank you. You are very sweet. Except for about two months when I didn't get them, I get email notifications when someone comments, so I do read them all. I don't always have time to respond to them all, though.
As for how I came up with this storybird, I think sometimes the inspiration behind a story should remain unknown, as coming up with things is a lovely, mysterious thing to start with.
