June—Bonus—Challenge: SpacePOP!

Do the challenge

YOU GUYS. Big news. For the first time ever, we’re giving Storybird members the go-ahead to write fan fiction. Well, fanfic with guidelines. Read on for the rules.

We have teamed up with the creators of a brand new series called SpacePOP that is debuting today on YouTube. It’s the story of five galactic princesses who disguise themselves as musicians and form a band called SpacePOP. Their mission? Spread the message of freedom and joy through music and join the rebel resistance force to vanquish the evil Empress Geela, who has taken over their home planets and enslaved the inhabitants.

Got all that? Here, take a peek at the first episode.

Next month, the first in a series of SpacePOP books, Not Your Average Princesses by Erin Downing, will be coming to a bookstore near you. To celebrate, the author and creators of SpacePOP have given Storybird members permission to write fan fiction about the SpacePOP universe. Using these characters, you can invent your very own stories and adventures.

Remember the challenge we gave you at the beginning of June that was all about backstory? That was a warm up. Now it’s time to put those writing skills to work!

For this special bonus challenge, write a picture book using the brand new SpacePOP art that has just been added to Storybird. Each of the characters is introduced below, with some details from their backstory. It’s your job to decide what happens next.
