March Challenge: Conflict

Did you know that the month of March is named after Mars, the Roman God of war?

Conflict. Anger. Tears. These are the themes of this month’s Storybird Challenge—a reversal from February and all that love and happiness.

Using the poetry format, squeeze all the dark and ugly emotions that fuel anger and conflict into a single-image POEM. Explore how our reckless choices lead to inevitable consequences: heartbreak, loneliness, sorrow.

Need some inspiration? Find an image that you think works with the theme above. Start here:

1. Theme of the month: Conflict - Your challenge this month is to find an image on Storybird that inspires you, and write a single-image POEM that includes the theme.

To be eligible for inclusion in the monthly roundup, you must submit your poem by March 24, 2017.

2. Choose your artwork – Browse our library of images to find the artwork that inspires you, or search for a specific theme. Choose POEM as a format.

3. Submit - When you have finished your book, select “March Challenge” on the poem details page before you submit to moderation. You may submit multiple poems to this Challenge.

4. Eligibility – Any Storybird member can participate in our writing challenge. You join simply by participating. Paid membership is not required but it will allow you to display your beautiful badges like the one shown below, receive printable certificates for each challenge, and ensure your work is reviewed within 1-2 days.
