For the august challenge
Goodbye
Goodbye
Mother and Father enter. Amelia turns her head back to them.
Amelia: Mother......Father I love you......but this just isn’t the place for me....I want to go explore the world...... not be a richman’s wife.
Mother: Amelia.....
Mother starts crying.
Please don’t go..... you are my only child...... what will I do....when I get old.... there will be no one to look after me.
Amelia: Mother you live in a castle with a cook and servants.... you have a huge fortune that will last long after you die..............
Mother interrupts.
Mother: Amelia Mangolandos of the Dessert! YOU WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE MY FORTUNE WHEN I DIE YOU WILL LIVE AS A BEGGAR UNTIL YOU COME RUNNING HOME BEGGING FOR FORGIVENESS!
Mother leaves the stage.
Father: Amelia.........you do not have to do this...... stay here where there is fresh water and food.
Amelia: Father, there is fresh water and food for us but have you seen the starving.....thirsty people around us. It is time I leave this unfair life and see what lies ahead.....
Father sighes and exits.
Amelia exits on her horse.
