The Swimming Pool In The Morning
The pool is dark in the morning,
the water still as glass.
The waves will start soon,
the work will follow.
The air is cold,
but not as cold as the water.
The sun is starting to rise,
warming the world,
but it will leave no lasting impression,
on the water you slip your sore body into.
And the ability not to drown,
seems to get farther and farther away every lap.
