What happens when YOU’RE Trapped in your own nightmares?
Chapter One
Lydia woke up in an instant. Palms sweating, she tiptoed downstairs. I was just having a dream, she reassured herself. None of this is real.
She reached for the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. She wanted to go back to sleep, but she felt like she just couldn’t. Suddenly, she remembered the dream.
A shadowy, cloaked figure was sprinting down a dark sidewalk. She stopped after a few more seconds, sitting down to catch her breath. However, you couldn’t see her face.
Then came someone else....Lydia. Me? What am I doing here? Lydia thought to herself. After a bit more sprinting, Lydia eventually caught up with the cloaked figure. She looked at the figure and felt her/his eyes staring back at her. Then, the figure handed Lydia a small slip of paper. It was folded into quarters. Not sure what to do with it, Lydia slipped it into her jean pocket. Just as Lydia turned to leave, the figure revealed her identity. She was....
Lydia looked outside, this time in her mother’s car. It was late at night, and there was little going on outside the backseat window. Lydia wanted to sleep, yet she was still thinking about the dream.
“Is everything okay, sweetheart?” her mother asked from the front seat.
“Yeah, mom, everything’s fine,” she replied with a hint of sarcasm. Lydia sighed as she stared out the window. If only she knew...
