A Poem
head in the clouds
I cry when I’m happy and I smile when I’m sad,
I scream when I’m calm and I’m calm when I’m mad,
I run when I can walk and I stop when I must go,
I sink underwater but I still expect to float.
I hide when I must seek and I seek when I must hide,
I breathe when I’m dead and I don’t when I’m alive.
I never listen to my head and I don’t listen to my heart,
I rip myself into pieces when I’ve fallen apart.
I’m not like you and I’ll never be like them,
I count all my flaws but feel like I’m perfect.
I talk in silence and I’m silent when it’s loud,
And I know all too well that my head is in the clouds.
