How long can you last lying to Those you say you love?
Swimming In Lies
I was dragged into a helicopter. I was breathing heavily, coughing water out of my mouth. Someone shushed me.
“Oh, don’t mind me, just casually choking over here.” I gasped.
“Honestly, stop talking!” The voice yelled at me.
I rolled over, seeing a face I’ve never seen before. “Who are you?” I asked.
“I don’t work for Ryan.” He replied, not answering my first question.
“Okay, but who are you?” I asked again.
“William.” He replied.
“Liar.” I snapped back.
He frowned at me. “How did you know?” He said, quite annoyed with me already.
I smirked. “Let’s just say I know a thing or two about lying.”
He rolled his eyes. “Whatever, Amelia. Just stop talking and sit there.”
We flew for hours, with no one saying a word. There were two more people flying the helicopter. This suspected “William” guy sat next to me, constantly glancing over at me.
Finally, I broke the silence. “Dude, what is your problem?” I asked him, kind of creeped out.
He sighed dramatically. “Amelia, you’re amazing ability to lie flawlessly qualifies you to work as a secret operative for our agency. We need you to locate and save your friend, Adam.” He stated.
I thought about it for a moment. “So, could you say that again? This time in English, please?”
He groaned. “You a good liar. You be good agent girl. You work for us and save friend Adam.” He said, like a caveman.
I glared evilly at him. “This is why you can never have two sarcastic people within 300 feet of each other.” I muttered.
“Amelia, do you accept or not?” He asked sternly.
“Fine, it it involves saving Adam.”
The guy actually smiled for once. “Great. Steven, land the helicopter at Base Number 785. By the way Amelia, my name is actually Charlie.”
