Missions
Amelia’s POV
After the registration, Charlie dragged me back to the White Room.
“Welcome to the Agency, Agent A03.” Charlie smiled, handing me a badge.
“Thanks. So, what’s my mission?” I asked him, still very annoyed with him.
“I’m glad you asked.”
He tapped the white table and a map appeared. It zoomed in on an old warehouse.
“We traced Adam back to an old warehouse on Wallaby Street. A very cliche place to hide a hostage, but whatever. Your mission is to locate and save Adam. As far as we know, he’s still alive, but we know that there are many arch-agents guarding him at gunpoint. So, do you accept this mission, Amelia?” Charlie asked me.
I thought it over. “Wait, I don’t have any kind of training.” I argued.
Charlie simply shrugged. “Well, you’ll know what to do when the time comes. You’ll need these to help you, however.”
He handed me a gun, a pair of glasses, and a pen.
“Um, what are the glasses and the pen for?” I asked him skeptically.
“Put the glasses on.” He replied calmly.
I did.
Everything was suddenly binary code. I looked at the Tablet Table, and saw the code to hack it and shut it down.
“Hacker Glasses. They let you see every code for any piece of technology. Now, click the pen.” Charlie explained.
I picked it up and clicked it. A laser zapped a hole in the wall behind Charlie. “You could have gotten a little closer to me!” He shrieked. “I could have, but I didn’t.” I smirked. He rolled his eyes at me. “Laser pen, self explanatory.” He muttered.
“So, Amelia. Do you accept?” Charlie asked again.
“What happens if I don’t?” I asked in response.
“We let Ryan kill Adam.” He said simply, as if it didn’t matter.
“Well, then of course I accept!” I gasped.
Charlie smiled at me. “Good. We’ll send you on the mission tomorrow morning.”
