The Murders At Myst Hotel
“Are you serious? Are you actually serious?” I asked Mom excitedly.
“Yes, yes! Im sure you’ll love the place Kylie! Your father booked a trip for you, me, Anna and himself! And it’ll last all summer!” Mom replied.
“Where are we going?” I asked, my excitement rising.
“We are going to Myst Hotel!” she said excitedly.
Boom. Like being hit straight in the head. Those words hit me straight in my head. I could not believe what I just heard. Every single bit of excitement I had about this trip, just seemed to soar out of me.
Out of every single hotel, they chose this one?! We can’t go there.. every year.. someone dies there. I get the shivers even thinking about it! No one goes there anymore... why us? Why me? Why my family?
“W-what? M- myst? Myst Hotel?“ I asked, trying to convince myself I heard her wrong.
“Yes. Whats the matter?” she asked curiously.
“You had to choose this hotel?!” I said and ran into Anna, my older sister’s bedroom.
“What do you want?” she asked.
“Myst Hotel! It is NOT safe there! We are going to die!” I said, expecting her to freak out.
“I don’t believe in that stupid myth.“ she replied.
“Are you sure?” I asked calming down a bit.
“Yes Kylie, I am.” Anna said annoyed.
“Well... I will believe what I think is right. And I know for SURE, that its dangerous.” I said walking out of her room and slamming the door.
When I went to bed, I looked at my favourite photo. I saw my reflection, my long brown hair, blue eyes. In the photo was me, my parents and sister. Anna was only 8 and I was only 4. Its been 9 years since that photo. Im 13 now. I wondered.. if we did go to Myst Hotel.. will it be the last time I see this photo..?
I was in a dream, I was riding a horse.. and it was leading me into a dark building.. Myst Hotel! I couldn’t get off the horse.. until when we were about to enter, I heard a familiar voice call my name.
“Kylie? Kylie! Wake up!” the voice said. Suddenly, I was snapped back to reality. I saw Anna above me. It was 2:37 am.. what was she doing waking me up at this time?
“What do you think you’re doing?” I whispered loudly.
“Look. You were right.. we cant go to the hotel! Ill explain later.” she said, reading the puzzled look on my face. “We just need to get those addmition passes to the hotel, and hide them.” she whispered.
I nodded. I was confused, but I guess I had to do it. I was basically saving my family.
Me and Anna tiptoed out of my room and were walking across the hallway, until I stepped on my dog, Amber’s chew toy.
It made a loud squeak. Me and Anna froze in our spots..
After standing there for a minute or so, we convinced ourselves no one heard the noise. We carried on. Suddenly.. someone grabbed my shoulder behind me.. Anna was infront of me.
